AOJ is basically a platform where you can make money by taking surveys, sharing ads, etc., which is a legitimate way to make money.

But oddly enough, a lot of people claim AOJ is nothing but a scam and a waste of time and effort.

American Online Jobs Review

American Online Jobs Review – Overview

  • Type: Make Money Online
  • Owner: Unknown
  • Price: $0
  • Money-Back Guarantee: no
  • Recommended?: No!

Quick Summary: There are several versions of American Online Jobs out there and each of them is severely suspicious. The very fact that there are a few versions of the same site out there is a scam signal.

Basically, one version offers access to jobs like customer service, data entry, marketing, etc. The other version gives you access to GTP jobs like taking surveys for cash, watching videos, sharing links on social media, etc.

However, there’s no evidence that either of these American Online Jobs sites is legitimate.

There are no customer reviews, no testimonials, no names of the owner, no address, nothing that could prove that American Online Jobs is legit.

Moreover, most reviews of AOJ online are quite negative!

And even if you sign up to find work on these sites, they will send you data to spammers. In other words, you could end up wasting even more time on some other scammy sites.

The bottom line is, I don’t recommend American Online Jobs in my review. I advise extreme caution. In fact, do yourself a favor and avoid these sites because in most cases, they are a scam.

What Is American Online Jobs?

American Online Jobs is an online platform that offers American citizens to work online from home. At the moment of writing this review, the website offers about 747 jobs from a wide range of categories.

So what kind of jobs are we talking about? Here are some of the categories that you can find inside:

  • Customer Service
  • Administrative
  • Entry Level
  • General Labor
  • Human Resources
  • General Business
  • Marketing
  • Telecommunications
  • Retail

Now, as I said at the beginning of this American Online Jobs review, a lot of people out there say that this site is actually a scam. To me, it looks legitimate at first.

However, there are some issues with this site that I want you to see before making any rash decisions.

American Jobs Online Red Flags

While doing my own research, I noticed a lot of red flags. All of these warnings are suggesting that American Jobs Online is a scam.

Lack Of Details About Creators Of AOJ

One of the first things I review is who owns the website. And while doing the research for American Online Jobs, I couldn’t find this information.

Based on my experience, the lack of information about the owners of the site is a red flag.

See, legitimate sites always disclose their real names, business addresses, social media profiles, etc. And AOJ hasn’t revealed a single thing!

Negative Reviews On Other Sites

See, if a website that promises to help you to make money online gets a lot of negative reviews, it’s a clear sign that something is not right about it.

For example, if you google American Online Jobs reviews (which is how you found this site), you’ll read a bunch of negative reviews.

American Online Jobs Reviews

As you can see, most review sites claim that AOJ is a scam. And this is not by accident.

That by itself is the first serious red flag.

Multiple Domain Names

Secondly, it seems like American Online Jobs keeps changing domains and names, which is another red flag.

Scam websites usually do this to cover up the previous scheme and to deceive newbies who have no idea what they are getting into.

As you can see from the screenshots below, there are two versions of the same site available.

American Online Jobs Scam #1

One offers real jobs such as customer service, manual labor, general business, etc.

On the other hand, the other one is about filling out surveys and doing other low-paid online tasks.

American Online Jobs Scam #2

It makes me wonder, how can they have two sites with the same name but offer a different kind of work on each site?

However, not all sites that offer online jobs are scams.

I reviewed a website earlier on this blog that offers the same service as American Online Jobs.

The difference is that Arise Work From Home, for example, is a real website that offers a very serious service and helps people to find online work. Another great opportunity is the Wealthy Affiliate.

On the other hand, I busted some scams like Paid Online Writing Jobs and Paid Social Media Jobs as well. So as I said, you can never be sure about something before you try it out.

So is American Online Jobs a scam as well? Let’s keep digging to reveal the truth, shall we?

How Do American Online Jobs Work?

One thing that I want to point out again before I explain how this website works.

See, my American Online Jobs review is quite different from all those other reviews out there because AOJ seems to have multiple versions available online.

If you’ve read a few of those reviews out there, you can see that all of them are talking about surveys and other get-paid-to opportunities including affiliate marketing to be the main idea behind AOJ.

The American Online Jobs site that I’m reviewing first offers access to jobs from various categories that I’ve already mentioned earlier.

By the way, the difference in the information is just another sign that we probably have a scam on our hands.

That said, let me show you how you can (or can’t) find work online through a site that is registered under the domain americanonlinejobs.jobs.net

American Online Jobs – Version #1

The main idea behind the platform is to offer business owners to advertise their jobs, and online job seekers to find work.

Before you can actually browse these opportunities, you will have to register with your personal information such as name, email, address, phone number, etc.

Below is the screenshot of the signup form.

American Online Jobs Signup Process

Once you’re inside, you can start browsing from various categories of American Online Jobs.

One thing I don’t understand is the address part. I mean, these are all online jobs, so the address of the employer is not really important, wouldn’t you agree?

In any case, once you find the job that you like, you will have to fill out the application and send it to your potential employer. Then, you have to wait to see if you got the job.

American Online Jobs Categories

And that’s pretty much it…

If you got the job, you can start working according to your agreement with your employer.

However, I tried to find some reviews and people who actually have had experience with the American Online Jobs website to see whether it is a scam or legit, but nothing came back.

To me, this is a sign that these jobs might not be legitimate after all.

That said, let’s go through the second version that you can find under the domain name aojonlinejobs.com

American Online Jobs Version #2

Now, the second version is all about doing small online tasks such as filling out surveys, watching videos, sharing links, and more, to get paid.

These sites are also known as GTP (get-paid-to) sites and in most cases are legitimate.

However, as soon as I scratched the surface, I noticed several signs that American Online Jobs is a scam.

As you can see from the screenshot below, before you can get started with these tasks, you’ll have to go through some sort of a questionary.

This sometimes occurs on other sites as well. But in this case, the American Online jobs screening process sites quite weird.

American Online Jobs Screening Process

Then, you’ll be taken to the next step where you have to watch a video and join a suspicious site called Life Points, which I didn’t do because my computer showed this message. This is a serious red flag!

American Online Jobs Security Warning

The next step is to join some sites called Inbox and 8 additional sites that are looking for referrals (screenshot below). And that is the catch with this scam.

American Online Jobs

Basically, American Online Jobs owner earns commissions for referring people to these survey sites and other get-paid-to jobs.

To put it into perspective, each time you apply for one of those sites and start working, they earn money. And you too will be offered to do the same.

Additionally, you’ll have to register your account with American Online Jobs to get access to the training area where you will have to watch more videos that will brainwash you to start applying to these companies.

It seems like American Online Jobs version #2 is a scam as well.

Can You Make Money With AOJ?

To tell you that you can make money with American Online Jobs would be a lie.

First of all, the first version seems seemingly legitimate, but there is absolutely no evidence that real people are making real money with this site.

Secondly, version #2 also shows no signs of earnings. Those links inside the members’ area are designed to refer you to some weird GTP sites that I don’t rust at all.

One thing is for sure, the owner will get paid each time he sends someone to register with one of those sites.

I did my best to find the truth in this American Online Jobs review, so I don’t want to spoil it by telling you that this could actually make you some money.

Based on the evidence, the chances that it will cash out are close to zero, if not even a flat zero!

See, some of those survey sites out there could be a real deal. But the problem is, you can’t earn any significant or life-changing income with these sites.

Don’t you agree that if those sites were legitimate, then everyone would be using them to make money?

But unfortunately, they are not. And in 90% of the cases, you will have to work like crazy to earn a few dollars.

On the other hand, below are the top 5 paying worldwide work-from-home jobs according to my friend, Eddy!

What I Like About American Online Jobs

At first sight, I thought that AOJ version #1 might be a legitimate place to find some work online. However, after closer inspection, I didn’t find any evidence that could lead me to say that it is not a scam.

The same goes for the American Online Jobs version #2. I didn’t like a single thing about it as well.

What I Don’t Like About American Online Jobs

  • There are multiple versions of the same site
  • Each version offers suspicious online jobs
  • No evidence that people are making money with this
  • American Online Jobs reviews are mostly negative
  • Your email will be in danger from spam mail
  • No information about the owner/s
  • Even if you can make money with AOJ, you’ll make peanuts

Is American Online Jobs a Scam?

It seems to me that American Online Jobs is a scam. There are two versions online, and both of them are jam-packed with scam signs and red flags.

This shows me that someone is trying to use the legitimate business model to actually scam people into signing up for these jobs.

However, there is no real evidence that could confirm my suspicion. I’ve read all the reviews that are available in the public domain and all of them are on the fence as well, leaning toward the scam.

Also, I tried to find at least one or two testimonials from actual users of American Online Jobs sites, but my search has not brought any positive results. To me, this is even more suspicious.

On top of that, while doing my own research for this American Online Jobs review, I couldn’t find who really owns these sites.

Usually, legitimate websites ALWAYS disclose this information. So when a site hides names, addresses, and other legal details, I’m inclined to say that it is a scam.

And if you try to sign up to one of those two sites with your email address, your inbox is going to be spammed almost daily with more and more scammy offers to make money online.

So all in all, American Online Jobs does seem like a scam. What do you think? Is it a scam or legit?

Do I Recommend American Online Jobs?

Since I haven’t found any real evidence that these sites are legitimate and are helping people out there to make some money online, I have to say that I don’t recommend American Online Jobs.

Even if those sites were legitimate, I would still have a hard time recommending them.

In my opinion, GTP sites are a complete waste of time and effort. It may take hours to fill out a few surveys and it usually does. And for what? A few cents on your account! Makes no sense to me.

In other words, you can’t make any real money with GTP sites.

American Jobs Online Alternative Solution

The best way to make some real money online is by starting your own online business. And the best way to start your own online business is called affiliate marketing.

One of the main reasons why affiliate marketing is the best way of making real money online is that with affiliate marketing, you don’t have to own any products to make money.

  1. This review of American Online Jobs (AOJ) Review is very interesting. I did not realize that they were working out of multiple fronts. You are right, that does sound a little scamish.

If you understand ‘Big Data’, then you understand that capturing your personal information is a tactic. Mailing databases are leading the latest craze. Information has become the new bitcoin. We are all targets.

  2. Thanks for an overview of this. I personally use Indeed as my #1 choice for job hunting. I have found some of the best jobs in my life from Indeed over the years. My personal stance on working from home for people who don’t have the credentials required to attain a decent job would probably be to try your #1 recommendation as it is something I work with as well. They do a pretty good job getting you set up for online success 🙂

  3. I’d never heard of this before reading this article, which at first glance, given its title you would be drawn to thinking it could be a scam.

What I like about your review is that it uncovers, all the apparent, ‘smell;surrounding what effectively is a platform, to advertise, ‘jobs online, some of which are less than reputable

Your review cuts to the chase very quickly and while its not a site I would normally look at, because paid survey sites are usually more trouble than teh yare worth, I would probably steer clear of this one quite quickly

As you allude to there are other very legitimate ways to make money online and one the easiest is by providing people with a solution for their existing problem.

    Enjoyable srticle, thanks for sharing

  4. Wow, so many red flags with American Online Jobs! So glad you did a review of this company, as I really hate to see individuals who really need to work from home for various reasons waste their time with sites like this. I think your review does a good job of pointing out these red flags, such as identical sites and no testimonials, that will help people recognize other sites that aren’t legit.

  5. I have always considered these types of websites to be a bit scammy, simply because most of the jobs they boast are either no longer accepting applications, or have outrageous requirements to even begin the job search process.

On top of that, a lot of the postings on the AOJ website look spammy in themselves and seem like really good phishing opportunities for people to get your information and flood your email with spam or worse.

Thanks for the detailed review and the heads up!

  6. Hi Ivan, nice way to warn us about this AOJ platform. I´ve been seaching through the web different platforms to make an extra money. Fortunately, I´ve never tried AOJ, and after reading your post, I will deffinetly won´t. I´ve had several bad experiences, taking jobs and spending time I never got paid for… I´m now wondering why I didn´t read a bit more before getting excited and thinking I would make easy money.

Thanks again for the warning and in case you do know more of these scam platforms, please post 🙂

  7. I’ve only tried the first version, bad had no success. I literally applied to 50 jobs and over 30 different companies, but none of them ever replied.

I mean, my application and resume weren’t that impressive, but I’m %100 that at least one employer would have found it to be good.

Funny though, this site was recommended to me on Reddit, from a freelance community I’m a part of. I honestly thought that I would find a suitable job, but unfortunately, I didn’t.

Are there any good GPT sites you would recommend?

I’ve tried more serious business models in the past, like dropshipping and trading, but never got the chance to try out AM.

Do you mind sharing how much money it would take me to get started and when I should expect results? I know that each success story is unique, but is there an average period?

    • Hi Gorjan Spirkoski, thanks for sharing your comment, I appreciate it very much and so will the readers of my blog. In my opinion, American Online Jobs is nothing but a scheme designed to funnel you to useless jobs. But that’s just my opinion.

I usually don’t recommend GTP sites. I find them useless and a complete waste of time and effort. However, if you’re looking for something legitimate in that area, I would recommend InboxDollars or SurveyJunkie.

To start with affiliate marketing, you don’t have to have a bag of cash. For example, with my #1 recommendation, you can start for free and it’s only $49 per month to get access to step-by-step training, all the tools and a 24/7 help and support system. When it comes to the speed of your results, you can expect them to show up during the first 2-3 months under the condition that you take everything in between very seriously.

      I hope this helps.

  8. I’ve come across similar sites offering work from home jobs, claiming you can make good money. However, there’s no way you can make decent cash from filling in surveys, or other micro tasks. Luckily, I also have Mcafee which does a good job of spotting fake or dangerous sites! I can only imagine how bad it would be for unsuspecting souls to enter their personal details and get scammed! You are so right that building your own online business is the best way to make money. In fact, the programme you recommend is in my opinion provides the very best opportunity.

    • Hi Kathy, thanks for your comment on my review of American Online Jobs. I agree with you. These sites are simply taking advantage of people. Even if those jobs inside were legitimate, there’s very little chance that you’ll make some real money. And as you can see, most of them trigger the Mcafee alert. In this case, it told me that the link leads to a pushing scam. Imagine that!

Indeed. Building your own online business is the best way to create a long-term stream of income that will last for years and years to come. And my #1 recommendation is the best place to start.
