Is Total Life Changes a Legit MLM Company? – Review 2022

Hi there, and welcome to my Total Life Changes review. The most asked question relating to this company is; “Is Total Life Changes a scam or a legit MLM company?”

Before we get into this review, let me introduce myself…

Hi, I’m Ivan and I’m an online marketer who went from losing my time waiting tables to running a thriving online affiliate marketing business.

In the meantime, I have actually tried and reviewed 600+ courses, scams, MLMs, and even pyramid schemes to find the very best way to generate income online.

In a nutshell, Total Life Changes is a health-based MLM company. You can join their program, get your hands on their products, and resell them to other interested individuals.

Also, you can recruit a team of salespeople and earn money from their efforts.

And that’s the main reason why most people are worried that Total Life Changes is a scam, a pyramid scheme, or some sort of hoax.

So what’s the truth?

Keep reading my Total Life Changes review where I’m going to show you what this company is about.

Also, I show you how it works, and I share my opinion about whether Total Life Changes is a scam pyramid scheme or a legit MLM opportunity.

Total Life Changes Review

Total Life Changes Review – Overview

  • Product Type: Total Life Changes
  • Owner: Jack Fallon
  • Price: $49.95 to become a distributor
  • Recommended?: Read my review and find out

Overview: Total Life Changes is an MLM company that sells health and wellness products. You can join and become a part of their direct selling team.

In other words, it is an MLM (multi-level marketing) business.

And because of this, many people call Total Life Changes a scam pyramid scheme.

In addition, concerning their business model, they haven’t disclosed their Income Disclosure Statement. This raises doubts about the success of their IBOs.

So is it a scam? Is Total Life Changes a pyramid scheme? That question has been answered in detail in my review. But if you’re in a hurry, I can save you time and say that Total Life Changes is legit.

The company manufactures and sells products like tea and coffee. And they offer you a legit opportunity to become a part of the marketing team to earn income.

Keep reading my Total Life Changes review to learn more about the structure, compensation plan, pros and cons, and more.

What Is Total Life Changes?

As said in the introduction to my review, Total Life Changes is an MLM company that sells health and wellness products.

Jack Fallon founded the company in 1999 under the name SeAcai. The company was rebranded and relaunched as Total Life Changes in 2012.

They have operated in over 100 countries, including the US, UK, India, Canada, and the Philippines.

Total Life Changes is about helping other people to live a healthier lifestyle by offering organic natural energy drinks, skin care products, and weight loss supplements.

Check out the official video below to learn more…

One of their bestsellers is the Iosa Tea range. It is made to help flush harmful toxins from the upper and lower intestines of your body and keep you regular.

The company made over $80 million in sales. Because of the success, they were ranked #100 in DSN for being one of the top revenue-generating direct selling networks, which is a good sign.

However, my concern is the complaints that I mentioned earlier. Therefore, we will take a deep look at this company and see if this is worth joining in my Total Life Changes review.

Who Is Jack Fallon?

Jack Fallon created this company to help other people with their health and financial wellness.

Jack Fallon CEO

Before he created this company, he was working at Ford Motor Company for over a decade. In 2008 Jack decided to leave the company and plan to create his own business, which is Total Life Changes.

And that’s the time he lived a lifestyle that made him feel happier and healthier. So he wanted to help thousands around the world feel it, too.

But like every other company of this kind, it’s suspicious. A lot of people have doubts that Total Life Changes is a scam pyramid scheme.

So what’s the truth? Keep reading my review…

What Is the Total Life Changes Business Model?

As said earlier in my review, Total Life Changes is an MLM business that uses an MLM company design plan.

MLM companies employ a marketing method in which the salesmen are compensated for the individual sales they create for the business, and also for the sales of the salesmen that they have hired.

Total Life Changes can not be categorized as a prohibited pyramid scheme since they offer commission incentives for offering products and likewise for hiring others.

Speaking of which…

Is Total Life Changes a Pyramid Scheme?

Because Total Life Changes participants make money both by offering products as well as recruiting new members, then it is risk-free to say that Total Life Changes is not a pyramid scheme.

Is Total Life Changes a Pyramid Scheme?

But before I get into more details, let’s learn what a pyramid scheme really is.

What Is a Pyramid Scheme?

According to Wikipedia, “A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members by promising payments or services in exchange for enrolling new members into the scheme, rather than providing investments or product sales”.

You can check out a short video below to learn more…

So why do so many people think that Total Life Changes is a pyramid scheme?

It’s because it’s possible for representatives to sell their products to make commissions. Truth be told, it’s because you can make cash by recruiting a lot of individuals right into the multi-level marketing scheme.

That’s why some people call it a pyramid scheme in disguise…

Is Total Life Changes a Pyramid Scheme in Disguise?

No. Total Life Changes is ruled out from being a pyramid scheme due to the fact that they do not meet the FTC rules of one.

In other words, they don’t compel their suppliers to acquire extra products on a month-to-month basis. Also, they do not need extra charges past the startup to participate in necessary training or events.

There is an extra effective focus on marketing the item over recruiting. This is what makes Total Life Changes a routine network marketing, not a pyramid scheme.

How Do Total Life Changes MLM Work?

The way Total Life Changes works is still the same as other MLM companies selling the products and inviting other people to join you and earn a commission.

TLC have a variety of health and skincare products.

The company doesn’t advertise its products. Instead, they let the sellers do the advertising for them so that they won’t have to pay for the marketing expenses.

You, as a potential representative can make money by selling their products and recruiting a team of representatives to earn money from their sales too.

Indeed, this scenario reminds me of a pyramid scheme. But as I said, since the company has products to sell, Total Life Changes is not a scam pyramid. Speaking of which…

Make sure you adhere to the dosage guidelines the supplier offers to take full advantage of their products.

Besides, TLC goes an additional mile to direct you on which of their products you can use together to enhance the positive results.

How Much Does It Cost To Join Total Life Changes MLM?

To register Total Life Changes, you must place an order with the standard kit with a value of $49.95 plus a 40-volume product.

Total Life Changes Starter Kit

To make it clear on their website, if you go to their shop, try to click one of their products, and there you will see the price, and on the right side, you’ll see QV and CV, and both of them have an amount.

The volume you’re going to look at is the CV, and if the CV is 10, you have to buy 3 more to reach 40 volumes.

That means you have to pay for the kit that cost $49.95 plus let’s say, for example, the product cost $49.95 as well, but the CV is 10, so you have to purchase 3 more, and the total amount of your purchase will be around $250 plus the shipping fee.

Once you have purchased the kit and the products, you will be a lifetime member of them.

I like this company because it has live chat support where the experts will chat with you. That is why I got this information on how much it costs.

However, I don’t understand why they didn’t just put their membership information on their website to avoid asking questions. Why does it have to be complicated?

It would be easier way if they put it on their website than asking questions on the live chat support because there are times that they are not live and you have to email them if you have any questions about the company.

That is the number 1 problem I have with this company.

How To Make Money With Total Life Changes MLM?

There are 2 ways you can make money with Total Life Changes and that is by selling and recruiting.

As I said in my Total Life Changes review, the best way to make money here is to try these products yourself and recruit more people in your downline to earn a passive income.

To do so, you will have to either “walk-around” and host parties or events to get new recruits and sales.

Alternatively, you can try internet marketing. In other words, you could set up a site in this niche where you promote all TLC products to earn commissions and even build a team.

Total Life Changes Pyramid Scheme MLM

In both cases, a recommended approach is to try these products yourself first!

You earn bonuses and commissions from any sales or purchases your “downline” makes. This is another way that Total Life Changes avoid being called an outright pyramid scheme.

How Much Money Can You Make With Total Life Changes?

Total Life Changes products are good that some of them may have good benefits for other people, but the problem with their products is that some are a bit expensive and often mis-sold.

This means once you become a representative, you might struggle to sell those products in high volumes but get an initial order, and you might get repeat orders.

Now the question is can you make money with Total Life Changes? Is it possible that you can earn a full-time income with this company?

Unfortunately, despite the fact that the company has actually existed since 1999, they are incapable to give any type of numbers that mirror typical revenues that genuine people typically make at each degree.

So it is really a hunch regarding how much you can earn with this. You can base your guess on the company’s official compensation plan though…

What Is a Total Life Changes Compensation Plan?

With Total Life Changes, there are 5 ways you can earn commissions:

  • Retail Bonus– 50% for every product you sell directly.
  • Fast Start Bonus – You can earn 50% commission from the first order with commissionable volume from your personally referred Life Changer. Each new person that you refer is eligible for this program, and commissions are paid weekly.
  • Binary Pay – TLC follows the binary leg model, so you have a power leg and a pay leg. The Binary Pay reward system means you can earn between 10-25% of your pay leg, limited to $20,000 per week.
  • Matching Bonus – You can earn a 10-50% match on the binary pay of the Life Changers that your team personally sponsors.
  • Life Changer Bonus – When you get to the National Marketing Director level or higher, you’re eligible for $1,500 per month to help cover some of the costs associated with your business like transport, team development, and so on.

If you want to know more about the compensation plan, you can view the Total Life Changes compensation plan video below.

The Binary Leg Model

There are two kinds of plans: the un-level model and the binary model.

In my experience with the binary, there will be a time that you are going to be struggling to keep them balanced.

For example, you earned thousands of dollars on your power leg, but you only got $50 on your pay leg, which means you’re only going to get $50.

Also, you’re going to find out that one of your teams grows quicker than the other team, and this is where the binary model is.

It sounds great at first, but it cuts your potential earnings in half, and you find yourself spending a lot of time trying to balance your two legs to catch up with yourself.

I’m not saying you can’t make money with this company since it has a product, but that depends on how you sell and recruit.

There are several ways to cancel your Total life Membership. Here are three different ways to do so..,

  1. You may cancel your SmartShip by logging into your TLC-office portal, beginning by selecting SmartShip, and then clicking cancel on the SmartShip profile. After that, you will receive an email confirming the cancellation.
  2. Also, you may request to have your SmartShip cancelled by submitting a web form: Request to cancel Smartship
  3. You may call (810) 471-3812 and request to have your SmartShip cancelled over the phone. You will need your account number and the last 4 digits of the credit card associated with your smart ship.

Total Life Changes Reviews And Complaints

The best way to check whether Total Life Changes is a scam or legit is to read some customer reviews and complaints.

Luckily, at the bottom of the Total Life Changes website, you will see BBB and Trustpilot icons, and both of them have good ratings.

It shows that the BBB gave them an A+ rating, and Trustpilot, they gave the company a 4.4-star rating.

To make sure those ratings are true, I check them out.

The first one I checked is the BBB(Better Business Bureau), and upon checking, the company is accredited with them, and they gave the company an A+ rating which is true.

However, customer reviews gave Total Life Changes a 2.49 out of 5, which is a bad rating.

BBB Ratings

So I go check the customer’s Total Life Changes review and see why they gave them a bad rating.

Upon checking, I read that some of them have had issues with the company’s customer service. In one of the Total Life Changes complaints, the customer said the customer service is horrible!

Whenever he had an issue with his order, whether a product is missing or they send something completely different from what he ordered, their customer service team responded poorly.

Here’s the full complaint of one of their customers:

Total Life Changes BBB Complaints

With Trustpilot, the 4.4 ratings that we saw on their website are true, and out of 2,153 customer reviews, more than 80% of them like the company, and the other 10% gave the company a bad rating.

Trustpilot Ratings

Now let us see why this customer gave the company a bad rating.

Upon checking, they gave the company a bad rating because of their customer service as well, just like what we saw on BBB.

Here’s one of the customer’s Total Life Changes complaints about his experience with their customer service.

Total Life Changes Trustpilot Complaints

Now I’m not biased or anything; I’m just showing why these customers in Trustpilot gave the company a bad rating.

These complaints don’t necessarily mean that Total Life Changes is not legit. It means that people are having problems with the company, just like with every other out there.

But still, let’s get busy answering that question too in the next part of my Total Life Changes review…

Is Total Life Changes A Scam?

Is Total Life Changes a Scam?

No, Total Life Changes is not a scam in my review. The company was founded in 1999, and it is still up and running to this day.

The company has a product for you to sell, and you can earn a commission by recruiting other people to join the company.

They also have good ratings with BBB and Trustpilot.

But upon checking on both websites, it is clear that the issue is their bad customer service as some of them had a terrible experience.

Total Life Changes may have A+ ratings on BBB and almost a perfect 5-star rating on Trustpilot, but those bad reviews are still important so that you will know why and I don’t want you to experience what they have experienced.

Also, there is something that I want to show you before you decide to join the company.

You see, on April 24th, 2020, the company got a letter from FTC( Federal Trade Commission), and it was warning them about making false health claims on social media.

Some TLC reps had been claiming their products help you protect from you COVID-19.

Here’s an example of what they say: “Worried about vulnerability to the Coronavirus? Why not boost your immune system with a shot of #NutraBurstLiquidVitamins.”

You can read the full details of the letter here.

Also, the company doesn’t show or release any figures showing the average earnings that real people typically earn at each level.

Hence, it is a shot in the dark about how much you can earn with this company.

That is why I don’t recommend this company to you because joining the company is expensive and the same goes for their products as well so it will be hard for you to sell those products.

Technically speaking, Total Life Changes is not a scam. It’s legit MLM. But I don’t believe in it and that’s because multi-level marketing is a tough business model that requires some serious marketing skills.

But if you want to check it out, as I said, Total Life Changes is legit. There is no scam here.

Alternative: On the other hand, if you’re looking for the best business model to earn passive income online as a beginner, there are other, more suitable, and cost-effective alternatives.

My top-rated course has helped me to go from earning $0 to $100’s per day!

Should You Join Total Life Changes MLM Business?

In reality, the chances are stacked against you with Total Life Changes. The fact is, that 98% of multi-level marketers fail!

This might be because salespeople market the chance through buzz without setting practical expectations.

Another reason may be the fact that this organization calls for a great deal of marketing which lots of people aren’t cut out for.

Network Marketing is really not for everyone. It requires an ability that many individuals do not have, such as in-person selling, team building, mentoring, and also recruiting.

When you come to be a Total Life Changes representative, you automatically end up being a sales representative. If you’re not comfy with it, you ought most likely to fail.

On the other hand, if you enjoy helping new clients, inspiring them, and also helping them in coming to be company representatives, you might enjoy this business.

Total Life Changes Review – Pros

  • They have been around for 18 years
  • Positive reviews on Trustpilot
  • A+ rating with BBB
  • The product range looks good

Total Life Changes Review – Cons

  • Expensive products
  • It will cost you more than $250 or more to join the company
  • There’s a possibility that you’re going to have to sell to your family and friends to make money
  • An issue with their customer service
  • NO income proof
  • The binary leg system means you’ll lose commissions on the most active side of your business
  • They receive a letter from the FDA
  • Low-income potential

Total Life Changes MLM Review – Conclusion

MLM is a legit business because there is a possibility that you will earn some decent money. What I don’t like about MLM is not because they’re unprofitable or illegal.

It’s because you are limited to promoting a very narrow range of usually overpriced products.

As I said in my Total Life Changes review, once you become a rep, you automatically become a salesperson. If you’re not comfortable with that, then you might want to avoid working with this company.

I can’t force you on what you like, but if you are that kind of outgoing person and love to meet new people and help them develop into business owners.

Then, network marketing could be for you.

But if you are looking for another way to make money online and create your own business, then I suggest you check my #1 recommendation below.

18 thoughts on “Is Total Life Changes a Legit MLM Company? – Review 2022”

  1. Total Life Changes sounds like it would be the right thing for the right person. If health and skincare products is something of interest where you could make money; then it might be worth pursuing. It would be wise to try the products first to ensure they are ones that you could promote for their quality. You will have to worry about the distribution and delivery of the product, however, which will take time and money. You seem to be very successful with promoting as an affiliate marketer and you say you are making great money without the headaches involved with delivering the product and payment. I think it would be prudent to check it out.

  2. The program of MLM Total Life Chances has some interesting approaches to internet marketing, which makes me feel a bit skeptical about seeing such similar websites all over the internet. The prices are no doubt a no-go since they are just too expensive for anyone to buy and promote their products.

Seeing the customer reviews of how poorly their customer support definitely gave off the first clue that it’s not worth signing up. The customers are always right and a program that doesn’t deliver good quality customer support definitely makes it not worth joining.

    Thanks for the review!

  3. Total Life Changes is a health-based MLM company, and it is legit. Some years ago, I tried many MLM companies, but when I started working with them, I realised it was not so easy to earn money. It required hard work, but when I discovered affiliate marketing, I fell in love with it.
This review is definitely useful for those who are really interested in building a career in the field of MLM.

  4. The problem with all these health product MLM companies is that while they may not be scams their way of making money is a bit dubious. What I mean is that their products may be ok, some of them may even be good, but usually compared to similar ones in the open market these are overpriced and to try to recruit other people below you can be an extremely hard procedure and this usually involves a lot of questionable practices. So I agree that this may not be a scam but surely in my opinion is not an ideal way to make money. There are far better, easier and risk free ways to do so.

  5. Thanks so much for sharing a great review on Total Life Changes. I’ve worked for a few MLM companies, but it didn’t go well; I had to put in a lot of effort to earn a meager sum of money. Following that, I begin affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is how I generate money online, and in my opinion, it’s the finest way. Keep writing this type of reviews.

  6. Thank you for your review of Total Life changes.  I’m not keen on MLM even though the company is legit, after reading some of the reviews I’m definitely not keen to be a distributor.  The products especially the teas do sound good especially as gut health is so important.  I am thinking of perhaps trying some of the tea even though it’s a bit pricey. Thanks for such an informative review on both the company and some of their bestsellers.

  7. Hey Ivan thanks for you detailed review on Total Life Changes! I’ve been active in MLM’s before and through one of the big events in the industry I came to know some leaders in the company. But as always with MLM, there are few leaders and a lot of people wishing and hoping. I liked that you really went into detail there and that made the compensation plan and the odds clearer for me. Binary is something I haven’t really had much to do with before.

    Keep up the great work!

  8. I have worked for a multilevel marketing (MLM) company, but have never come across Total Life Changes, so reading this review has been very interesting. The MLM business is outdated and if you are not continuously recruiting new team members and building your down line, then the chances of earning an income with MLM, is remote.

Affiliate marketing is a far more realistic way of earning an income than with Total Life Changes and the MLM business model.

  9. Thanks so much for sharing a great review on Total Life Changes, as I’m currently looking to start my own business, a good friend told me about this company but I like to learn more before I signed up, and after reading your article I must say now I’m well informed that this is another MLM with health products to sell, and this is not what I’m looking as I have worked for a couple of MLM companies and it didn’t go well, I had to work a lot to make just a few dollars, I like more the idea to start working on my own website and being able to work with more products and not only with products from one company.
