Crowd1 Review – A Pyramid Scheme or a Legit MLM?

Welcome to my Crowd1 review. If you are wondering whether this scheme is a scam or a pyramid scheme, check out this article in full…

Like thousands of people out there, when I first heard about this program, I asked myself the same as you right now. Is Crowd1 a scam? A Pyramid Scheme? Or maybe a legitimate network marketing business opportunity?

So I dug in to find out the truth! But first, who am I?

Hi, I’m Ivan and I’m an online marketer who went from losing my time waiting tables to running a thriving online affiliate marketing business.

In the meantime, I have actually tried and reviewed 700+ courses, scams, and even pyramid schemes to find the very best way to generate income online.

And in this Crowd1 review, you will find out exactly that! I’m going to show you what it is about. Also, you’ll learn how it works. And I will show you an interesting video from a journalist who claims that Crowd1 is a scam.

Ready to get started? Let’s go!

Crowd1 Review

Crowd1 Review – Overview

  • Type: Pyramid Scheme (?)
  • Owner: Jonas Eric Werner
  • Price: From 99€ to 2499€
  • Money-Back Guarantee: 14-Days (questionable)
  • Recommended?: NO! See the summary below…

Quick Summary: According to the official website, Crowd1 is a global network marketing and educational platform. But according to many, many, many reviews and reports out there, it is a scam and a pyramid scheme.

Therefore, I have done an extensive research to write my own review. What I found out was exactly the same. Crowd1 is a pyramid scheme that attracts people to buy different price packages and then promote the same to others.

That’s how the people on the top of the pyramid get rich, while you and I simply find their enterprise and collect breadcrumbs.

My honest advice is to avoid Corwd1 and read the rest of this review to see why.

Update 2022: Crowd1 has actually been taken control of by Impact Group Innovation SL, a Spanish company. You can read more about it here.

The reason is that the people behind the scheme have created a classic Ponzi, where they take as much money as they can and then close the company.

This hasn’t happened yet, but it is just a matter of time before it does…

Alternative: My #1 Recommendation is a 100% legitimate training platform that helped me to go from $0 to earning $100’s per day with affiliate marketing. Wanna follow in my footsteps?

What Is Crowd1?

To provide you with the most accurate information about this company, I’ve done a lot of research and found a lot of different opinions about what Crowd1 is about.

Some say Crowd1 is a pyramid scheme. Others say it’s a great opportunity to start with network marketing.

Here’s what the official website says:

Crowd1 is an established online networking and marketing company with intention of giving members all over the world the unique opportunity to take part in the gig economy, quality education, international networking, and contribute to achieving better digital equality in the world.

So as you can see, the company is all about network marketing, education, and making money online.

I was surprised by the quality of their work in terms of self-marketing. Honestly, I’ve never seen a network marketing company that looks as good as this one.

Crowd1 Review - Official Page

However, sometimes the looks can be deceiving. See, the most successful pyramid schemes in the world are usually those that look, sound, and feel awesome when you come in contact with them.

If you’re familiar with MOBE, then you will know what I’m talking about.

MOBE was a pyramid scheme that offered exactly the same service as Crowd1. However, the truth came out to the surface and FTC was quick to shut MOBE down in 2018.

Will the same happen to Crowd1? Well, I guess the time will tell.

Who Owns Crowd1?

Crowd1 was created by Jonas Eric Werner, a Swedish entrepreneur.

But he’s not the only one who’s running this scheme. If you’ve seen their videos, you have had a chance to bump into a few more faces as well.

One of the faces is Johan Staël von Holstein, Jonas’s partner in the business who has a long history in the MLM industry and has been recently accused that Crowd1 being a pyramid scheme.

Crowd1 Owners

I’m in no position to tell you whether or not those claims are true. All I can say is that the people behind the scheme are real. They have an online presence and are proud to stand behind their work.

Both men are behind another platform called Impact Crowd Technology (notice the similarity), which seems to be operating on the same fuel as the company in the review.

Speaking of which, we should learn more about it, right?

How Does Crowd1 Work?

Crowd1 exists as an advertising and marketing business based in the UAE that provides individuals throughout the world the chance to make money online through network marketing.

To start you need to buy one of the bundles, the cheapest one is 99 euros (I’ll reveal these soon in my Crowd1 review). After that, you have to make other individuals get these packages to make money.

The packages consist of things like accessibility to a social gaming system (Miggster), audio programs for personal as well as professional development (Mindoe), far better offers for resort reservation (LifeTRNDS), a technique game (Planet IX), loyalty factors and a digital business card.

There are three steps you must take to start promoting these packages…

How To Make Money With Crowd1?

Step 1. – Join Via Private Invitation

The only way you can join Crowd1 is via private invitation. This means that someone has to refer you to the platform. Usually, this is done via WhatsApp (in case you’ve given your phone number to an affiliate) or via email (in case you’ve given your email).

Either way, you will get a special link that you can use to visit a signup page where you will have to register your information such as name, email address, physical address, etc.

Crowd1 Review - Sign Up Page

While signing up, you will also have to leave your sponsor’s user name so that he or she can receive compensation when you decide to become a paid member.

Step 2. – Watch A Series Of Webinars

But before you can become a paid member, you’ll have to watch a series of webinars.

These are all designed to “brainwash” you. In other words, each webinar is all about how Crowd1 is the best place in the world to make money online and network with other like-minded individuals.

This is a popular marketing tactic because it’s very effective. It helps to create trust and thus, improves conversion rates.

So once you see all the material that you’re supposed to see, you’ll get a chance to purchase one of the paid memberships and start promoting the same.

Step 3. – Purchase Packages and Start Promoting

This might be the #1 reason why most people will say that Crowd1 is a pyramid scheme. See, before you can join the platform, you’ll have to buy one of the memberships.

Here is the breakdown of the packages:

  • White Level – 99 Euros
  • Black Level – 299 Euros
  • Gold Level – 799 Euros
  • Titanium Level – 2499 Euros

Crowd1 Review - Packages Price

Just like with every other pyramid scheme, the main idea is to buy your way up from the cheap membership to the most expensive one, while promoting the same stuff to people around you.

And trust me, it’s the main idea behind this scheme.

They do have a set of training videos, motivational material, community, etc that are presented as products that you’re buying with each membership so it appears that you’re getting some value in return.

However, that’s just, in my opinion, a mask designed to cover the pyramid scheme.

What Is Crowd1 Compensation Plan?

In this section of the review, I am going to cover the information on how the compensation plan works and how you can make money with the Crowd1 opportunity.

Crowd1 Compensation Plan

Getting Started

The first thing that you will need to do in order to get started is to join one of the investment levels to qualify for commissions from the opportunity that Crowd1 offers.

Here is a breakdown of each level that you can join with the number of shares that it offers:

  • White Level – This level will require an investment of 99 Euros. You will receive 100 Euros worth of owner-rights shares
  • Black Level – This level will require an investment of 299 Euros. You will receive 300 Euros worth of owner-rights shares
  • Gold Level – This level will require an investment of 799 Euros. You will receive 1000 Euros worth of owner-rights shares
  • Titanium Level – This level will require an investment of 2499 Euros. You will receive 3500 Euros worth of owner rights shares

Residual Commissions (Binary Pay)

Crowd1 offers residual income as part of its compensation plan structure. The company uses the binary compensation plan structure to pay out these residual commissions.

In the case of how the Crowd1 compensation plan pays out, you will need a 1 to 3 ratio using the point structure.

Here is a breakdown of the points that you can earn per level that your new members or team members join at:

  • White Level – When you or your downline team members sponsor someone at this level, 90 points will go toward the leg that the member falls in your binary compensation plan.
  • Black Level – When you or your downline team members sponsor someone at this level, 270 points will go toward the leg that the member falls in your binary compensation plan.
  • Gold Level – When you or your downline team members sponsor someone at this level, 720 points will go toward the leg that the member falls in your binary compensation plan.
  • Titanium Level – When you or your downline team members sponsor someone at this level, 2250 points will go toward the leg that the member falls in your binary compensation plan.

Once you meet any calculation of a 1 to 3 ratio of points on both legs, you will earn a commission payout.

Matching Bonus (Unilevel Pay)

Crowd1 also offers a matching commissions bonus that is paid out from your team member’s residual commissions. This is tracked and paid out using the uni-level compensation plan model.

There are a total of 5 levels on that you can earn the matching bonus on.

Here is a breakdown of the matching bonus commissions that you can earn on each level and the qualifications that you need to reach in order to get paid from all 5 levels:

  • White Level –  To qualify for commissions at this level, you will need to recruit 4 investing members. You will earn a 10% match from all members on this level only.
  • Black Level –  To qualify for commissions at this level, you will need to recruit 8 investing members. You will earn a 10% match for all members on levels 1 and 2. When you recruit 12 investing members, you will earn a match pay of 10% on levels, 1, 2, and 3.
  • Gold Level –  To qualify for commissions at this level, you will need to recruit 16 investing members. You will earn a 10% match from all members on levels 1, 2, 3, and 4.
  • Titanium Level –  To qualify for commissions at this level, you will need to recruit 20 investing members. You will earn a 10% match from all members on levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Streamline Bonus

The Streamline Bonus is structured in a 1 line compensation plan from the company-wide sponsorships or recruitments of all members.

Here is a breakdown of how many “Streamline levels” you will earn depending on the level of investment that you join the company at:

  • White Level – When you join at this level you will earn 3 Streamline levels.
  • Black Level – When you join at this level you will earn 8 Streamline levels.
  • Gold Level – When you join at this level you will earn 12 Streamline levels.
  • Titanium Level – When you join at this level you will earn 15 Streamline levels.

Fear Of Loss Bonus Commissions

Crowd1 also offers affiliate members bonus commissions for sponsoring a certain amount of investing members in a 14-day time period. This is why they call it the “fear of lass bonus”.

Here is how much you will earn for your first 14 days with the “Fear of Loss” bonus:

  • When you recruit 4 White Level affiliate members you will earn €125 EUR.
  • When you recruit 4 Black Level affiliate members you will earn €375 EUR.
  • When you recruit 4 Gold Level affiliate members you will earn €1000 EUR.
  • When you recruit 4 Titanium Level affiliate members you will earn €3000 EUR.

I am not sure if you also have to be invested in the higher levels to earn the bonuses from the higher levels or just from the level that you invested in.

Gambling Residual Commissions

This bonus is the commission that you make from the company-wide gambling profit. When you are at the Team Leader Rank, these commissions will start at 5%. At the Director level, you will earn 10% of these profits.

If you struggle to understand the info from the above, here is a helpful video:

This is all of the information that we have about the compensation plan and how you can make money with the Crowd1 opportunity, let’s continue.

Can You Make Money With Crowd1?

Crowd1 has no earnings disclosure declarations like lots of MLM companies. Yet I will certainly show you later in this Crowd1 review why the business design that Crowd1 is running is absolutely unsustainable.

That said, technically speaking, yes, you can make money from Crowd1.

If you hire tons of people right into the company and also make them believe that it’s the best thing in the world (scam them), you’ll be able to make money.

But here’s the concern … There’s only one way to earn money at Crowd1; invite individuals into Crowd1!

The network marketing participants can generally make compensation from selling these items.

However, the only method you can earn money from Crowd1 is by hiring individuals to sign up with Crowd1. There are no real services or products that people can buy without signing up with Crowd1!

You might assume it’s uncommon to see multi-level marketing running without actually selling any actual items. Yet right here are some other Multi-level marketing that doesn’t offer any item in any way as well as only focus on recruiting.

That’s why they carry a label of a pyramid scheme…

So is Crowd1 a pyramid scheme or a scam?

Is Crowd1 a Scam?

First of all, a scam is defined as a deceptive scheme or trick used to cheat someone out of something, especially money. Whether you get something in return is not a matter of question.

In my opinion, Crowd1 is a scam. Based on my research, the company does have some traits of a dishonest operation that benefits those at the top the most.

While doing the research for this review, I stumbled across an article from NamibiaFactCheck.org where they openly say that Crowd1 is a scam.

Moreover, the entire operation has been banned from Namibia country.

To really get the answer to whether or not Crowd1 is a scam, I would recommend watching this video from BBC News Africa’s YouTube channel:

Is Crowd1 a Pyramid Scheme?

According to Investopedia, a pyramid scheme funnels earnings from those on lower levels of an organization to the top, and are often associated with fraudulent operations.

Now, if you take a look at the Crowd1 compensation plan below, you’ll see that it has all the traits of a pyramid scheme.

Compensation Plan

Moreover, Crowd1 was accused of being a pyramid scheme by many resources all over the internet.

So whether it is a pyramid scheme or not is up to the authorities who will eventually have to take a look inside the work of this company.

In my opinion, it looks like it is.

See, there are no real products or services being sold via the Crowd1 platform.

Basically, the whole thing has been designed to get more and more people to sign up, purchase memberships, and promote them to more people for compensation in terms of commissions.

Crowd1 Online Reviews

Based on numerous Crowd1 reviews that are available in the public domain, I can easily conclude that this platform is not trusted, is dangerous, and could cost you a lot of time and money.

The problem is that more than 1/3 of customer reviews claim that it is a scam. Just take a look at some of these complaints and reviews.

Crowd1 Reviews Pop

Crowd1 Reviews Ofelia

Crowd1 Reviews Izrael

Crowd1 Reviews George

Crowd1 Reviews Rene

And even if you ask Google “Is Crowd1 a scam,” most of the articles will say yes so it really doesn’t matter what I say here in this review because the world has spoken.

I mean, think about it. If it was a legit opportunity, then there wouldn’t be so many red flags and negative reviews.

Crowd1 Review – Conclusion

As a final matter of my review, I want to say that I really, really, reeeeealy don’t recommend the Crowd1 platform. I know it sounds and looks good at first, but it’s not, trust me.

The thing is schemes like this work. I mean, they wouldn’t exist if they don’t.

However, pyramid schemes benefit the most only those who are on top of it. More than 98% of those who join these schemes will fail and will never see a return on investment.

Moreover, there’s no real education here that could help you to start a legitimate online business, which is the main reason why I don’t recommend Crowd1.

I’m all for education and giving freedom to the people, but I don’t see it in this company.

Thanks for reading my Crowd1 review. I hope that now, you have a much better picture and are able to make a smart decision. Let me know if you have any questions in the comment box below!

  1. I’ve read a couple of reviews on Crowd1 because a friend mentioned it to me while I was still working in the Middle East. But because the only way to make money is to recruit others to join and earn your way up the ladder, I immediately turned down my friend’s invitation.

Crowd1 just like any other pyramiding scheme or networking companies are a no-no to me. Their platform may look fabulous but that does not make them a legit company. I would advise anyone to stay away!

Thanks for confirming what I already know about this networking company.

  2. Really enjoyed reading your thorough review of Crowd 1. This is one I had not heard of before, but definitely has the hallmarks of a scam. I have been involved in network marketing (MLM) a few times over the years, and even  the legit ones, I found it almost impossible to earn much income,. It seemed that I was always spending for training, etc.

In my humble opinion, after doing a lot of similar research, AFFILIATE MARKETING, is an excellent way to build a legitimate online income. No, you don’t become rich overnight, however, after putting in consistent effort, you can generate a mostly passive income in perhaps one to two years. definitely a long term project, but worth the effort in my opinion.

  3. Hi, Ivan. Looking at his post I fully agree that MLMs are mostly deceptive. I have been affiliated with some for the direct sale of perfumes, cosmetics, weight loss products and others. Most have started with low-cost products and then slowly increase the price more and more with a lower profit margin. Finding yes with customers who no longer buy the product or even to find yourself after years with a real point of sale at lower prices than those proposed by you as a refferal. I believe these marketing strategies are known almost everywhere and trust in MLM is very low. I am waiting to understand how Crowd1 will turn out too. However if you know any MLM with good prospects I am willing to try again with those online.

  4. I have not come across Crowd1 before, so thank you for this very helpful review, warning the readers that it is  indeed a pyramid scheme, as confirmed by many other reviews. There is often such a fine line between a MLM and a pyramid scheme, with many MLMs being a pyramid in disguise and hiding behind a product.

The unfortunate thing is that many people will fall for it and lose money, before the scheme is closed down and the creators disappear.

  5. Your Crowd1 review is extensive and contains much valuable information on this topic. If there is only one way to make money and that is by scamming others then it should be a forgone conclusion that they are not a viable business. It seems that these types of companies become very good at hype, but if they package their false promises in a professionally looking way; they get a response so that they can make tons of money.Everything about this company seems to point to the conclusion that the only resson for the site is to fatten the wallets of those above ib the chain. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction and your advice on how to suceed in this business.

  6. Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your very comprehensive review of Crowd1. I actually was not familiar with it, but after reading your article, I would steer anyone clear of it as well. This definitely sounds like the shiny object offer at its finest. All fluff and no substance. You’ve been quite detailed in pointing out the obvious in this company that promises to deliver but has nothing to sell. There’s definitely a lot of red flags out there. That coupled with all the other negative reviews is a clear sign. So thank you for all of your insights on this company. There are better ways to make money online.

  7. Hi Ivan,

If a program only gets membership products, it’s simply a matter of time that FTC might put an eye on it & force it to shut down eventually. Therefore, I don’t think we should put our precious time and effort into something risky like Crowd1, especially when it’s banned in Namibia officially. Making money online is not easy, so people should try their best to avoid scammy products and choose the right path.

Thanks for sharing this information today.

    • Hi Matt Lin, thanks for your comment on my review. I agree with your comment. Since there are no products to consume inside the Crowd1 platform, it’s just a matter of time before someone from the authorities notices this and shuts it down. I’ve seen too many pyramid schemes over the last few years falling down for the same reason.

  8. Thanks for warning me about this one. Crowd1 may not be a classic scam, but it’s definetely something I would not invest my money in. The reasons for that is because I firmly believe that this is not a long term solution and can easily collapse overnight.

I was a part of something similar years ago, and believe it or not, I actually made $100, but that’s nothing when you compare it to the $250 I invested.

Thanks for the review, Ivan. You’re certaily one of the most transparent reviewers out there!

Keep up the great work and good luck!

    • Hi Gorjan Spirkoski, thanks for your comment on my review of Crowd1. I agree. All pyramid schemes collapse eventually and overnight, which puts you, as an investor, in a very bad situation. Even if you start making money, you could lose your entire business in a finger snap. Just take a look at the MOBE example. It’s the same thing, just in a different package.

  9. Hey Ivan,

As always, I completely with you on your final decision.

However, I had actually heard of Jonas Werner before, but for the life of me I couldn’t remember where.

So, I did some investigating myself and then realised that I had heard of him via a BBC documentary I saw a few months ago.

The program was entitled “The Missing CryptoQueen” and was about Bulgarian entrepreneur, Dr. Ruja Ignatova.

Dr. Ignatova launched a crptocurrency in 2014 called OneCoin.

It turned out to be a massive MLM scam, and Ignatova disappeared in 2017, and has never been seen since.

However, Jonas Werner started a company about a decade ago, which turned out to be a pyramid scheme – something to do with getting people to invest $500.

Once it was discovered that this company was a pyramid scheme, Jonas left immediately and joined another company, which again was a pyramid scheme.

And it just so happens that this company that Jonas worked for was part of the OneCoin group.

So basically, Jonas has previously been involved in two pyramid schemes, and also was part of a company which undertook one of the biggest crytocurrency scams ever – and which the originally owner has not been seen for nearly 4 years now.

It’s not exactly a glowing reference.

Apologies for going a little “off-course” here Ivan, but it was really bugging me where I knew the name from.

However, it’s good to see that your review doesn’t class Crowd1 as a decent opportunity.

So, it’s nice to have some back up, LOL.

    • Hi Partha, thanks for your comment on my review of Crowd1. I’m actually very glad that you’ve decided to share your knowledge and everything you know about Jonas Werner and his background with pyramid schemes.

This is not a good sign at all.

But it’s actually very common. People start a pyramid scheme and it goes well for some time. But since pyramid schemes are hard to sustain and have to collapse at one point if there is no real product being sold, they have to delete everything and start all over again.

I’ve seen this happening over and over again, and my guess is that it’s just a matter of time before Crowd1 gets either shut down, rebranded, or something third to continue the operation.

In any case, I don’t recommend it. In my opinion, this program will not help to build a real online business.

      Ivan
