Global Domains International Review – A Scam Or Legit MLM Scheme?

Welcome to my Global Domains International review.

You can never be safe enough on the internet. There are too many scam websites that promise fortunes. That is why I want to help you to learn more about Global Domains International, a website that has a reputation for being a pyramid scheme.

So is it an illegal scheme? Is it worth it? Are you safe?

And most importantly, we’re going to take a closer look to see whether Global Domains International is a scam or a legitimate way to make money online.

Before we get started with this review, I want to be completely honest. I do not promote GDI. I bumped into this site a few days ago, and I was worried that it might be a scam. Therefore, this review is 100% honest and unbiased.

Global Domains International Review

Global Domains International Review – Overview

  • Product Type: Domain and Hosting Provider/MLM
  • Product Owner: Michael Starr and Alan Ezeir
  • Product Price: $10 to join + products
  • Recommended?: NO

Quick Summary: Global Domains International a website hosting and domain service provider that’s been around for two decades. The also company hosts a lucrative affiliate program that pays out on five levels, which makes it an MLM scheme.

There are no signs of a scam or anything illegal about Global Domains International. However, the websites and all other services the company offers look outdated and are not quite recommended for building sites.

The only good side of GDI, at least from what I’ve seen, is their MLM program where you can earn an income by referring people to buy their service.

For more information about the company, please read the rest of my Global Domains International review.

And if you’re interested in making money online, make sure to check out my top recommended program below that has enabled me to earn a full-time passive income online!

My #1 recommendation includes step-by-step affiliate training, hosting, domains, keyword tool, a helpful community, private coaching, technical support and more.

What is Global Domains International?

Global Domains International (found at the website.ws) is website hosting service and a multi-level-marketing business opportunity.

In other words, you can leverage Global Domains International to buy domains (I don’t recommend this – reasons why not later in this review). Or you can join their MLM scheme to become a promotor for the company and earn an income from sales you make (not recommended too).

The website was created by Michael Starr and Alan Ezeir, where they offer domains and website hosting to their clients.

Global Domains International Owners

The website was founded back in 1999, and since then, the main structure of the company has been based on making money by getting other people to sign up for the service. They also offer email forwarding & site builder tools among web hosting and domain registration services.

Global Domains International

Oddly enough, I managed to discover that Global Domains International does not register .com, .net or .org domains. They only register .ws domains. But what does .ws mean? Ws means Western Samoa.

As much as this was a strange fact to learn, I still haven’t found any signs of a scam.

But as I said, Global Domains International is not recommended service. Their website looks extremely outdated which makes me think that the quality of the product is the same. And why would you buy the .ws domain anyways?

When have you seen this domain performing well in the search engines?

How Does Global Domains International Work?

So if you want to join Global Domains International to register a domain name, it’s going to cost your $10 per month. As a member, you get the following services:

  • domain name
  • website hosting
  • affiliate website
  • 10 POP email accounts
  • email marketing system
  • bulk emailer

Global Domains International Products

That’s a lot of service for measly $10 per month, don’t you agree? So what’s the catch then?

Well, there isn’t any catch per see. You see, Global Domains International is heavily focused on multi-level-marketing. In other words, once you join, they will recruit you to promote the company to others using their own tools.

This means that you could make some money with Global Domains International as an affiliate or distributor. They will pay you a fee for each person that you bring to the platform, and this fee is going to be recurring for as long as the person stays a member of GDI.

I was referred to a platform by Justin James, which means that Justin is going to make money if I join.

However, I’m not going to buy any product from Global Domains International because it looks old and outdated and those domains are not attractive. Moreover, I doubt the quality of the service as well.

I’m aware that a high-quality hosting and domain provider these days means half of the success in the search engines. It’s questionable how good is GDI’s hosting.

Anyways, that’s how this program works. Let’s check out the next section of my review where I will explain the compensation plan in depth.

Global Domains International Compensation Plan

The structure of GDI is based on a 5 tier MLM system. This could translate into a substantial income if you manage to assemble a large team of affiliates.

What I Like About Global Domains International

  • You Can Join for Only $10
  • The Company Offers Plenty of Services
  • Domain and Hosting Niche is Profitable
  • 5 Tier Affiliate Program

You Can Join for Only $10

The joining fee for Global Domains International business program is only $10. However, it’s a recurring membership, and the costs will keep rising if you want to leverage the full service.

Global Domains International Offers Legit Hosting Services

Some MLM’s cover a pyramid scheme by introducing worthless digital products to the platform to avoid accusations. However, Global Domains Internation does offer a lot of useful services. So even if you’re not interested in promoting the company, you can get a domain name, hosting, email service, etc.

Domain and Hosting Niche is Profitable

The number of new domains and website per day is rapidly increasing. At this moment, there are billions of active sites, and new sites are popping each day. That said, this niche is highly profitable.

5 Tier Affiliate Program

GDI’s affiliate program allows you to earn an income from five levels, which is very generous, in my opinion. This means that you can earn from five levels of your referrals. And if you take the opportunity seriously, you could generate a lot of income through this MLM.

What I Don’t Like About Global Domains International

  • .ws Websites are Not That Popular
  • It May Take Ages to Recruit Enough People
  • Domain and Hosting Niche is Highly Competitive
  • Official Website Looks Old and Outdated

.ws Websites are Not That Popular

When I saw a .ws domain, my initial thoughts were “this is some scam.” And for this reason, a lot of people are probably sceptical too. As you can see, all websites are focused on accruing .com or .net domains. People trust these extensions because they are popular, while .ws is not that much.

It May Take Ages to Recruit Enough People

I’m not a fan of MLM’s like Global Domains International mostly because it takes a lot of time and effort to recruit enough people into your team. I’m sure that for an average individual, it may take up to 2 or 3 years to attract enough customers and to earn a substantial income.

Domain and Hosting Niche is Highly Competitive

Under the pros section of my review, I’ve said that domain and hosting niche is profitable. And for the same reason, you will discover that this niche is packed with competition. And not only with affiliate competition, but with tons of different product as well. You’ll have to develop some excellent marketing skills to get your work out there.

Global Domains International Looks Old and Outdated

Attracting new customers to Global Domains International could be a difficult task. You see, the official website looks like it hasn’t been redesigned for years. And when you bump into it for the first time, you don’t feel any professional vibe. If you remember, I thought GDI is a scam because of poor user experience.

Is Global Domain International a Scam?

Alright. It’s time for the big questions. Is GDI a scam or legit? And my answer is no, it’s not a scam. Global Domains International is a legitimate domain and hosting service that offers an affiliate program. The company is in business for 20+ years, which speaks for itself.

You may have discovered this opportunity through some weird websites that only talk about the income potential and look outdated. If that’s your case, then I don’t blame you’ve felt that GDI is a scam. Those were my initial thoughts too.

But as it turned out, GDI is safe, and there are no signs of a scam.

Is GDI A Pyramid Scheme?

Once again no, Global Domains International is not a pyramid scheme. They do have an MLM based compensation plan that slightly resembles a pyramid scheme because of multi-layered payouts.

However, since the company offers tools and hosting service as a part of the compensation plan, it’s safe to say that there’s nothing illegal there. But as I’ve said earlier, I do not want to promote this opportunity.

Is Global Domains International BBB Accredited?

Global Domains International is listed on Better Business Bureau, but it’s not been accredited yet. This does not mean that it is a scam. It’s actually a good thing that they are even listed on BBB. Moreover, they’ve got an A+ rating and very few complaints over the last years. Protests were mostly directed toward refunds.

Is GDI A Recommended Program?

I’ve seen people getting into business opportunities like Global Domains International full of hope, and yet rarely anyone comes back with a success story to tell. Moreover, these schemes are not the best way to make money online. With an MLM like GDI, you’re tied to their program, and you don’t have too much elbow room as well.

That is why I don’t recommend opportunities such as Global Domain International to my readers.

Global Domains International Review – Conclusion

At the end of this Global Domains International review, I want to share some personal thoughts about GDI as a business opportunity, not as a hosting and domain service provider.

You see, this sort of MLM could be very lucrative. However, it can only be lucrative if you are a highly skilled marketer who can generate 1000’s of leads quickly. Otherwise, you may get stuck in trying to figure out things on your own and waiting for those big commissions to pop in, which may never happen.

How To Start a Website And Make Money?

In my experience, the best way to start an income online is by building your own website (like mine here), which is not a hard thing to do if you know where to go (I’ll show you the way). Then, you use that site to get FREE traffic and promote ANY PRODUCT you like to your visitors.

There are tons of untapped niches and products you can leverage to earn a decent income from affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you have complete control over your business. It’s the best online business you can start these days.

  1. I was with GDI for over a year. You say it’s legit but I say it’s a scam. I never made a dime with them. I followed the training to the letter and promoted GDI in every way possible. Then, my sponsor told me that he gets to pick who makes money under him. Guess what? He never picked me. You have to be picked from a rotator within the GDI site to make money. It doesn’t matter how much you promote and recruit others. You don’t make money with that. In order to make money with GDI, a person has to be picked from the GDI rotator and nobody will ever be picked. GDI misleads people and doesn’t tell you all this. Stay away from Global Domains International. It’s not worth the $10 a month after the 7 day trial. They are definitely not legit! They are another scam to take your hard earned money and then leave you to the wolves. Support doesn’t exist. Run from GDI as fast as you can!

  2. Thanks for give your honest opinion about Global Domain!

It is very hard to find something legit on the internet these days, specially when the promises are high, but too little expectations.

I personally tried myself working in recruiting people with multilevel companies, but it didn’t work for myself. I’ve seen it tends to work for other but that thing is it can take a long time to make it work. With that being said, The pyramid business might not be for me, since before didn’t show no earnings at all.

    Thank You for sharing opinion!

    • Hi Ana65, thanks for your comment. It’s hard to make money with schemes like Global Domain International. Especially when they are outdated and there are a ton of better products out there. The problem with inferior schemes like GDI is that they use misleading and scammy tactics in their funnels to get new people, which is not cool.

  3. This doesn’t sound like a scam as you say.  However, I have joined similar program with no luck at all.  I think you are right, that if you are a highly skilled marketer, then this could possibly work for you and you could actually see an income.   The review was great and knowing the information now, I would have to pass on this.  Thanks!

  4. Hey Ivan,

Awesome review. I had a look at their website. That took me back to the early 2000s of how websites look.

Yeah, and you’re right on how the only people making money with companies like this are the people who are good at digital marketing and that’s a rare few.

    • Hi Shaun, thanks for sharing your comment on my review. It’s hard to make money with Global Domains International, in my opinion. The site is outdated and the only option you can get is .ws domain. I doubt that anyone is making money with this offer. I’m a skilled marketer, and I don’t see how I can earn an income promoting this website.

  5. I have to agree with you…. there are so many scams out there that I think every body is kind of scary to jump into any online opportunity. Even the reviews, it is difficult to identify the ones that are really genuine. So it’s a great to have access to reviews like this, clear and based on facts. This domain .ws is not popular at all. But I like when you say, if you have a full experience you might make money with this opportunity but if you have to start from scratch not so sure. Anyway, in any business things doesn’t happen overnight, it requires effort, dedication, and patience. Well-done for the review. Very well written.

    • Hi TGP, thanks for sharing your comment on my review of Global Domain International. Not at all, WS domains are not popular and in my opinion, this is not the best deal on the internet. The good thing about it is the compensation plan, but that’s all.

      Thanks again for your comment!

  6. Hello Ivan,

Great review. To the dot. I have to support you here as in the past I got bewitched by this program and its fancy videos, but like you say, .ws domains are really not popular, and this is an MLM system that is really hard to recruit people, and much harder to make them recruit and train other people.
The good thing is that if you don’t want to carry on, you can stop at any time and get refunded.
Another thing I did not like about WS domains is their interface, is very outdated, and the landing pages also look like old advertorials style pages.
I am with you on this review, not a recommended system.
How about Wealthy Affiliate? I was looking at your recommendation, do you have to create websites to promote the program?

    • Hi Pablo, thanks for sharing your comment and experience with Global Domains International. I agree with your comment. To answer your question, Wealthy Affiliate is a great program and my top recommendation. You’ll have to create a website to promote ANY program or product you want. WA has got its own affiliate program too. Your choices are unlimited.
