Quick Summary: Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is a step-by-step course that teaches how to start your own WordPress niche blog.
Michelle shows how to write helpful blog posts, drive free traffic using Google and Pinterest, and make money with affiliate marketing.
I can confirm that the method is 100% legit. It works, but it takes a bit of time and effort to get results.
So is this course worth it? Is Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing a scam? Let’s find out.
✅ Course PROS
The good thing about the program is that it was created by a legit online marketer – Michelle Schroeder-Gardner. Her course follows the right methods and workable techniques.
On top of it, the Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing course itself is fairly comprehensive and affordable, which makes it suitable for both newbies and advanced bloggers.
The course includes lots of bonuses, community (this is very important), and has got lots of positive reviews and testimonials from its users.
? Course CONS
The bad news is that blogging is not the fastest way to make money online. Compared to other methods like PPC, blogging actually takes a lot of time and effort to produce results.
Also, if you decide to join the Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing course, you have to take the full risk right away. There’s no refund policy.
Moreover, Michelle’s course requires extra investment (tools, websites, hosting, domains, etc). It’s a shame that it doesn’t come with all those features built into the program itself.
And probably the most important con to Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing in this review is the fact that she’s not teaching SEO. And she’s not that good at it either.
SEO is the main, top, best method to drive tons of highly-targeted free traffic to your blog and she’s missing it.
?? Scam or Legit?
Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is a legit course. You get access to six fairly comprehensive training modules that contain workable information, lots of bonuses, community, and more.
Also, the price seems fair. I would prefer if it would include some sort of refund policy or at least a free trial. Even so, it is a legit course.
The bottom line is, if blogging and affiliate marketing are your things, then Michelle’s course could be a good choice to get started or to improve your skills and business.
In other words, it’s not a scam. Read the rest of my Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing review for more information.

THE BEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE IN 2023 >>
What Is Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing?
Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is a step-by-step training course created by Michelle Schroeder-Gardner, a professional blogger and affiliate marketer.
The core idea behind this training program is to teach you how to start a blog from scratch, get free traffic from SEO and make money with affiliate marketing.
Starting a blog from scratch is one of the most difficult but most rewarding branches of online business.
The most difficult is because it takes a lot of time, effort, and skills to get results. On the other hand, the most rewarding is because once you start getting results, well, they are huge!
Most people don’t understand that it takes sometimes even years to get positive results, which is why most people give up on this great business opportunity.
The good thing about this course is the fact that Michelle Schroeder-Gardner is 100% honest about this fact.
She’s not trying to sell you this course under some fake promises that you will somehow make $1000’s per day right from the start.
She gets lots of positive points for being honest.
Her course reminds me of my two favourite courses which are based on blogging and affiliate marketing.
One is my #1 recommendation, Wealthy Affiliate. And the second one is, The Blog Millionaire. Out of those two, I would definitely recommend Wealthy Affiliate!
Before I start digressing too much, let’s continue with this Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing review to see what exactly this course is about and what you can learn from Michelle Schroeder-Gardner.
What Is Affiliate Marketing Exactly?
Affiliate marketing is a simple process of promoting other people’s products through your own marketing efforts.
It comes down to connecting people who are looking for products with product sellers using websites and affiliate links.
The diagram below explains the process:
A word of warning before we move on…
Some people live in a delusion that you can create a site and just post links on your website. Then by some magic, people will start clicking on them and you’ll become filthy rich overnight.
Yeah, right! That is as far away from the truth as possible.
Even Michelle admits that it is a very hard thing to do. However, when you know the right approach to blogging and getting clicks to your site and affiliate links, things get much easier.
That said, let’s see how this course could help you to master affiliate marketing.
Who is Michelle Schroeder-Gardner?
Michelle Schroeder-Gardner is a professional blogger and online entrepreneur. She is the owner and creator of MSOAM.
Before she broke through into the online business world, Michelle was living a “normal” life.
Today, she’s a super-successful online marketer who earns a 7-figure income online.
Michelle’s success was recognized by lots of media out there. For example, you can read this article from Forbes. And there are many positive publications online.
She’s also behind the Making Sense Of Cents blog where she shares her knowledge and expertise on saving money, making extra money, blogging, etc.
All in all, Michelle Schroeder-Gardner is a real deal, so let’s continue this review to see what you can learn from the Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing course.

In a nutshell, Michelle Schroeder-Gardner is going to lead you through her own process and approach to blogging and affiliate marketing. These strategies have worked well for her over the past few years so they are legitimate
The main idea is to create a website/blog where you will be posting blogs about your niche as well as product reviews.
You need to carefully construct your posts so that they appear in search engine results and thus get you free traffic.
Each time a customer searches the net for a product review or some other information, clicks on your blog, clicks through your blog, and makes a purchase, you make money.
That is the theory, of course. The reality is something else.
With Michelle’s course, you can learn how to implement this strategy properly to succeed in converting your traffic (readers) to actually take action with your recommendations.

Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing Costs
Okay, it’s time to see how much Michelle Schroeder-Gardner asks to get access to her step-by-step training program. By the time of writing this review, Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is selling for $197 one time.
If you can’t afford to pay $197 at once, you have another option. You can split it into two monthly instalments of $107 each. This way, you will pay a bit more, but at least it’s easier to take it.
One of the things that I just couldn’t find is the money-back guarantee. So I assume that Michelle Schroeder-Gardner does not give one.
In other words, once you purchase her course, there’s it. There’s no coming back.
Also, keep in mind that you will have to invest some extra money into tools. You will have to buy the hosting, domain name, keyword tool, Tailwind (Pinterest posting automation), etc.
This all will set you back a few $100s rights of the gate.

Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing Reviews
One of the best ways to find out whether Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is a scam or legit is to find some reviews.
The good news is that most reviews of Michelle’s program are positive. And if you go to her website, you will find a few testimonials of course users.
However, there is a small problem with these testimonials that affect my review of Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing.
I have done a background check of the websites mentioned on the sales page and the results are not good. Only one site is getting more than 30K clicks a month from SEO.
The other two sites are not doing as nearly as good…
However, since Michelle’s course is not focused on SEO techniques that will ensure more traffic from Google, this is not a surprise. She’s actually more oriented toward Pinterest.
That said, these sites might be getting the large bulk of their traffic from social platforms.
Also, I have managed to find this low-rated review of Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing…
This user has complained mostly about the poor execution of the course, and she thinks it could do better.
But overall, most reviews online are good, which means that Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is a legit course.

Blogging is fun. It’s a creative method that is suitable for anyone interested in expressing their creativity online and making some money. You don’t need any special skills or knowledge to get started.
I like that this course teaches how to get started properly in a step-by-step format. In other words, it’s suitable for both beginners and advanced bloggers.
Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is relatively affordable
Another good thing about Michelle’s course is that the price is quite affordable. You will not have to shell out $1000’s to get access to the training.
The program comes with a lot of valuable bonuses
Another good thing about it is the number of bonuses and extra content. Moreover, these bonuses are extremely valuable.

This feature is very important, especially for beginners who will have lots of questions.

Those testimonials look genuine and some of them can actually be verified, which is a good sign.

Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing Review – Cons
In this section of the Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing review, I also want to share a few things that I didn’t like about this course. As far as I’m concerned, nothing is perfect.
Here’s the breakdown of the things I didn’t like about this course:
- No refund policy or free trial
- Does not include tools (extra costs)
- It takes a lot of time and effort to get results
- Not the best affiliate marketing training
- Relies too much on text (A few videos)
- Lots of talks but little work
- Doesn’t focus on SEO
- MSOAM is rarely updated
No refund policy or free trial
The first thing that I don’t like about Michelle’s course is the fact that there’s no refund.
So if you decide to dive in, you have to be 100% sure that you will actually be in it for real. If you decide to drop out, your investment will be gone.
Does not include tools (extra costs)
Another thing that I don’t like about Michelle’s course is that it doesn’t include tools like websites, hosting, keyword research tools, etc.
This means that you will have to invest more money on top of the price of the training.
It takes a lot of time and effort to get results
Lastly, the methods taught in this course are not the fastest ways to make money online. It may take a year or even two years to establish your blog in search engines and start earning a passive income.
Not the best affiliate marketing training
I have reviewed over 600 training programs on this blog. Most of which are about affiliate marketing. When I compare Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing to the likes of The Authority Site System, I can see a huge difference in quality.
Michelle’s course comes in the top 10, but it’s in the bottom half of the list.
Relies too much on text (A few videos)
Another thing that I don’t like in this review of Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is the fact that this course doesn’t include too many video lessons. It’s almost entirely PDF and text.
In my experience, the best way to learn affiliate marketing is through visuals. Sure, some people like to learn by reading, but come on, we’re in 2022!
Lots of talks but little work
One of the things I noticed about this course is that Michelle spends a lot of time talking about something. However, she doesn’t explain how to do it in sensible logical steps.
Doesn’t focus on SEO
Probably the worst thing about Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is the fact that it doesn’t focus on Search Engine Optimization.
You’re instructed on how to build a blog and write posts and reviews. But you will not learn how to optimize your page for improved SEO. This is critical yet it has been left out!
MSOAM is rarely updated
From my understanding, Michelle has released this course back in 2017. Now it’s 2022 and things have changed a bit. Affiliate marketing is still the same, but some methods have changed.
And it doesn’t seem that MSOAM is following the trend.
Is Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing a Scam?
One of the main ideas behind my review of Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing was to help you to see whether this course is a scam or legit.
Unfortunately, there are many scams out there today, and the last thing you want to do is waste your time and money on a scam.
As far as I’m concerned, it is not a scam. I found a legitimate training course that focuses on helping people to start and/or advance with blogging and affiliate marketing.
Moreover, the owner of the course, Michelle Schroeder-Gardner gives a lot of value in return for your money and she seems to be an expert on this topic.
You get a comprehensive training course as well as a ton of extremely valuable bonuses too.
The fact that this course has got a few testimonials from people whose results are real-deal shows that this course is definitely not a scam.
By the time of writing this Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing review, the course or at least its Facebook group counts 6K active members.
Alternative: On the other hand, if you’re looking for the best business model to earn passive income online as a beginner, there are other, more suitable, and cost-effective alternatives.
My top-rated course has helped me to go from earning $0 to $100’s per day!

It could be for a stay at home moms and dads, copywriters, existing bloggers, affiliate marketers who need more education on this topic, students, and basically anyone interested in starting a successful blog.
Do I Recommend Michelle’s Course?
Yes, I would definitely give it the green lights. In other words, I recommend Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing to people who are interested in blogging and affiliate marketing.
However, it’s not my #1 recommendation because it’s not the best affiliate marketing course out there.
It lacks video training, contains a bit of fluff, and skips some of the most valuable lessons about blogging and affiliate marketing such as SEO.
That said, I have a much better alternative suggestion, so make sure to read this review till the end!

Hi Ivan,
It is a brilliant review that you have put forth of “Making a sense of Affiliate Marketing”.
regarding the course, it is well done in many aspects that a beginner or affiliate or even someone stumbles upon in some sections of their journey.
As I understand, this course lacks SEO training which can be a big benefit to the content creators to get traffic from free and through Ads.
But it is precise, tailored well, and has worked for people. $200 is a few lunches or a week or two at Starbucks spending for some in this inflated world.
It accumulated a lot of focused and helpful material for learning. The bonuses are awesome.
It is a legit course and done by an experienced and highly successful affiliate marker.
Thanks for sharing your review of Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing.
Another fantastic review! I agree with you 100% that affiliate marketing and blogging takes a lot of time and effort to see positive results. I like how you gave every detail about what to expect from the affiliate training course and explained all the pros and cons that come with it.
The path to being a successful affiliate and blogger is never easy but having a reliable and trustworthy training course that can teach us to become successful in the world of affiliate marketing definitely makes money worth invested.
Thanks for the review.
You’re welcome, Terence. And thanks for sharing your point of view about affiliate marketing!
That is so strange to me that she doesn’t go over SEO, especially if she’s teaching how to drive people to your site to sell product from affiliate links.
I have read her blogs in the past on Making Sense of Cents, but I didn’t know she had one for affiliate marketing!
Honestly after reading through this and looking at what she has to offer, I am still 1000% happy that I went with Wealthy Affiliate. I think it just has so much more to offer than she has in her course and the support and community is unmatched.
Thanks so much for making this review! It makes me know even more that I made the right choice with Wealthy Affiliate!
I have seen several social media advertisements for Michelle Schroeder-Gardner and her Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing course, so have been wondering if this is a legitimate program, or actually another low quality course. Although it is a legitimate course, the rating of only 3/5 indicates to me that the quality is not tops.
SEO is such an important and integral part of affiliate marketing, and if SEO is not taught in the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course, then I would look elsewhere for training.
With additional costs for keyword tools and website hosting to name but two, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing will set you back more than just the cost of the course. Thank you for sharing this helpful review.
Thanks for your comment, Line!
Making sense of affiliate marketing sounds like a great product. It’s wonderful to see an honest review that wasn’t commissioned. For bloggers who want to study SEO and make money with affiliate marketing, it sounds like a fantastic alternative. Although the benefits and drawbacks of this software seem insignificant, the alternatives should still be considered. I appreciate the full review.
You’re welcome and thanks!
I have not previously heard of the Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing course and I appreciate this review that you shared. I like that it is geared to both advanced as well as new marketers. Six training modules plus a community for support sounds good. I also like her honesty in saying that it takes time, commitment, and effort to succeed in blogging. There are very few overnight successes. I will definitely save this link for future reference.
Hi Joeseph, thanks for your comment.
Ivan
This review on “Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing” is very detailed and offers a great detail of information that a beginner would need to know at the onset. I agree that a great deal of the required resources should be included; however, the price is still fairly reasonable. The pros and cons of this program appear negligible, but the options should still be weighed. Thank you for the in-depth look.
Hi Canty, thanks for your comment.
Ivan
I have seen one of Michelle’s blogs on an entirely different subject. I knew that she had a training platform available for sale. She described in detail what she did as a blogger in the beginning as a side-hustle and how she KEPT adding CONTENT to improve her rankings to begin making money from being a blogger.
She insisted that the only way to become successful is to write, write, and write. She mentioned that even when you don’t feel like blogging to do it anyway to keep the law of averages on your side. She talked about how it took some time to have a following and to start earning an income. She also said that when she got her first commission check that she was on top of the world.
Since, she has now released her own training program, I am sure that it is well organized and thorough.
Jerry
Hi Jerry, thanks for your comment. Much appreciated.
Ivan
A lot of people think affiliate marketing is a scam. I was once like that before I did intense research and I saw the benefits of it. This is something that I would definitely recommend to friends and family because they still don’t know what affiliate marketing is and they think that it is a scam, so this article will definitely help.
Hi Daniel, thanks for your comment.
Ivan
Wow, I really enjoyed reading this article on making sense of affiliate marketing review. I like that this course can be purchased once and for all and that the price is reasonable despite certain additional charges and the fact that the benefits take a long time to appear; it really appeals to me. I also see that it is available to newbies and that it is a very understandable and legitimate training course. It’s also encouraging to see that it has a lot of positive testimonials.
And I can’t wait to give it a shot.
Hi Lio, thanks for your comment.
Ivan
Making sense of Affiliate Marketing seems to be the platform where we could finally understand what affiliate marketing is all about. I don’t mind to work hard if you can assure me that with them, I will be on the right path. There are so many course out there that teach methods that don’t work or that once worked but are outdated. But this doesn’t seem the case with Making sense of Affiliate Marketing
Hi Ann, thanks for your comment!

I have to admit it. You grabbed my attention when you said that Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is recommended, but not for newbie. I said to myself: hum… really? And it true. The most difficult thing with affiliate marketing is being consistent until you get the results. The course seems to be of good quality to me. I just would like to say that I’ve seen programs that are way more expensive than this one. A free 7days trial would have been a good thing to offer to the new members.
But that’s just my opinion.
Hi NoBossExperience, thanks for your comment. Yeah, I would also like if it has some sort of a free trial that would allow everyone to see what Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing program is about. In any case, it is a legit course and recommended, but not for the newbie. My #1 recommendation is the most newbie-friendly affiliate marketing course I’ve reviewed and tired.

Ivan, thanks for your thoughtful review about the Marking Sense of Affiliate Marketing course. It’s great to see an honest review from someone who’s not being paid to write it. It’s great to know that this course isn’t a scam. There are so many of them out there these days; it’s hard to keep them all straight! It seems like a great option for bloggers who want to learn SEO and make money with affiliate marketing. Crash courses like this are so useful, and judging from the module titles, it seems to cover a lot of ground. I look forward to learning more about it.
Best,
Femi
Hi Femi, thanks for your comment. I’m glad that my review of Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing was helpful. You can rest assured, it’s not a scam. It actually a decent course on blogging, SEO, and affiliate marketing.

It sounds a lot like some of the information taught inside of Wealthy Affiliate, just not as comprehensive and with the community aspect, live training etc. included. Am I about right in saying this?
Why consider “Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing” if you could invest in WA instead? Or is it due to it being a one time cost and therefore a lot less inexpensive and therefore a good starting point for those that have less money to invest perhaps when starting out?
Many thanks for considering my questions!
Hi Schalk, thanks for your comment on my review. Yes, you’re right about saying that. Both making sense of affiliate marketing and Wealthy Affiliate teaches more or less the same thing. That is, how to start a blog and make money from affiliate marketing. Between the two, WA is my top choice.
Making sense of affiliate marketing sounds like a quality product. I like some of the bonuses including using Pinterest to drive traffic, as this method really works. I also like the amount of content in the course and the fact the creator isn’t making false claims. The cost may seem expensive to some, but this course has obviously had a lot of time and effort put into it by someone who knows her stuff. You are right that blogging takes time before you start seeing results, and I feel that a beginner with the right mindset could really make this work if he or she put everything into practice. In addition, The Facebook group could be really helpful, especially with 6,000 members. Your recommendation is great though, as it’s highly affordable, and with so many tools as well as hosting.
Hi Kathy, thanks for your comment on my review. Yes, making sense of affiliate marketing is good training. Not the best one I’ve ever seen, but it’s legitimate. I too like a lot of those bonuses the owner includes with this program. The amount of value she gives for the price is more than fair. On the other hand, my #1 recommendation packs even more value for only $49 per month. Thanks for your comment!
